LARRY
BOGDANOW (1947-2011) It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Larry Bogdanow, an incredibly talented and influential designer as well as a genteel, peaceful, and socially responsible human being. I met Larry 21 years ago in the elevator of 75 Spring Street where our offices were one floor apart. We ended up collaborating over the years on his exquisite restaurants (Savoy, Cub Room, City Hall, Merchants, Kelly & Ping, Kin Khao) which were able to draw on his unique version of Arte Povera to create lush environments that echo a hospitable, human scale. I will miss greeting him as he rode his bicycle in the neighborhood. Mark. |
